Guris shows the very day when Catalunya decided to vote concerning Independency.
The vote wasn't constitutional,
yet it took place everywhere in the region.
Waking up in Barcelona to images of policemen hitting citizens in what turned out to be election spots for a day, I decided to walk around the city
to capture the atmosphere.
Guris is not exactly a nice word. It is used in Barcelona to name expats and tourists. People who live there but are not from there.
As I did photograph this event from far, and as I wonder what kind of nation would be Catalunya,
I named this work Guris.
THE BIGGEST EYE CONTACT EXPERIMENT
Launched in 2015 in Australia by a dozen of people previously known as « The Liberators »,
« the biggest eye contact experiment » tries to fight indifference, which became a daily data in our contemporary big cities. Salt turned a whole area into a cemetery. But as chaotic and desperate as they are, Salton landscapes are still amazingly beautiful.
Poindexter used to say that chaos is what happens when an angel falls in love with a demon.
Wandering around feels like being a witness of this love-story...
CHARLIE - BATACLAN
NOV - DEC 2015
January 7th of 2015.
a few hours after Charlie Hebdo's attacks.
January 11th of 2015. A march is organized through the capital. As we can't move anymore in the streets, it turns into a massive grouping.
November 13th, same year, the Bataclan.
It is the "state of emergency" since then.
In the country, in the city. Unable to work because of what's going on in my hometown,
I coupled my photos with a few lyrics by the Eagles of Death Metal... a bad work but...
